Nancy Trent thinks back on her life's journey, wondering how she ended up at this crucial moment.
"It all started when I was a kid," Nancy begins. Her father's early interest in health sparked her own passion from a young age. "But what might interest you more," she adds, "is why I started the first wellness PR firm."
Nancy remembers a time when "wellness" wasn't a common word thirty years ago. Talking about healthy products often meant people assumed you were a hippie who only ate granola and didn't shave – a stereotype she found funny.
The turning point came when Nancy was given a pharmaceutical account as a bonus at a PR firm. During the first meeting, she realized the product had questionable benefits and serious side effects.
"I thought to myself, I can't promote something that isn't good for people and has side effects." Two days later, Nancy Trent started her own PR firm.
